Job Compensation: $60-65k plus bonus potential

Job Overview (What You’ll Do):
Cotopaxi is seeking a new Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team and help process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The AP Specialist will have a daily, ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners.
Ideal for the candidate who is analytical, organized, autonomous, and also able to communicate data effectively, both from an accounting lens and from a business perspective as well. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, people and mission-first organization, dedicated to doing good.
Job Responsibilities (How You’ll Do It):
- Oversee accounts payable, billing platform, and approval matrix.
- Manage all company credit card spend, vendor invoices, and expense reimbursements processes.
- Prepare journal entries and related transactions for company spend.
- Perform regular bill pay runs and monthly close procedures.
- Provide support and information for annual audits.
- Process all invoices into AP daily as well as weekly bank transactions.
- Determine appropriate accounting treatment for leases, capitalized expenditures, and rent.
- Support other departments by providing data to budget owners and other necessary reporting including a weekly payables report for review with the CFO.
- Build and maintain meaningful relationships with our external vendors, including managing Cotopaxi’s vendor onboarding process and respond to vendor questions and concerns.
The Ideal Candidate (What You Need to Succeed):
- 1-3 years of accounts payable experience, including managing vendor relationships.
- Technical knowledge of accounting procedures and ledgers.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Great attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Google Suite and Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Netsuite ERP and Bill.com experience is a plus!
