About the role

We’re looking for a seasoned product manager to join our Consumer Product team. This team is responsible for building a delightful digital consumer experience, from onboarding users to helping them identify their families’ needs to purchasing the right insurance products to protect their families.

The ideal candidate will combine first-principles thinking, understanding of consumer needs, and creativity to envision delightful customer experiences. They’ll drive experimentation and strong execution to deliver results. We’re looking for an entrepreneurial product leader who is passionate about advocating on behalf of users and driving business growth, demonstrates a high degree of ownership, and is looking to join a team with a clear mission and purpose.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build experiences that touch millions of online insurance shoppers. Examples include (but are not limited to) purchase, up-sell, and cross-sell experiences for new insurance products added to the Ethos platform. This is a very customer-focused role with the opportunity to deliver measurable and visible impact.
  • Identify new business-growth opportunities to drive our strategy and quarterly priorities e.g. new insurance products to offer consumers, or improvements to existing products and experiences, to drive growth.
  • Work cross functionally with amazing team members in Product, Analytics, Design, Compliance, and Underwriting, to gather requirements, and design world-class purchase experiences for our consumers.
  • Use consumer insights and data to drive improvements to the user experience, and higher conversion rates and ARPU.
  • Operate with ownership and have a high degree of autonomy. Ethos is a product first company, where Product Managers operate with autonomy and ownership.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience as a product manager in a high growth technology company, building products that touch millions of consumers. 10 years of total experience in the technology industry.
  • Ability to use data, customer insights, an understanding of user psychology, and first- principles thinking to generate hypotheses, design world-class consumer experiences, test, and refine ideas.
  • You’re strong technically, and can understand internal systems well enough to build conversion-maximizing experiences
  • A strong analytical orientation -- a focus on logical, data driven decision making and the ability to measure success.
  • The ability to work cross functionally with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, and drive towards the right solutions for the customer and business
  • Relentless drive to set and chase ambitious goals, prioritize what really matters, overcome inevitable obstacles, and execute effectively
  • You can think at the 10X and 10% level, balancing big bets with smaller increments
  • You show extremely high ownership and can operate with a high degree of autonomy.
