Our Fund - PSP Peterson Search Partners (PSP) invests in search funds and micro-cap private equity deals. Our founder, Joel Peterson, has been investing in this asset class since the mid-90s, providing capital for his graduating students from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. In 2003, Peterson Partners began formally making similar investments from its lower-middle market fund. In 2018, Peterson Partners brought on outside capital for this strategy for the first time, raising Peterson Search Partners I, a $50M fund dedicated to the same asset class. In 2022, Peterson raised Peterson Search Partners II, a $100M fund with the same strategy.

Your Role As Vice President, you’ll be a key contributor to the success of Peterson’s core driver – the entrepreneurs we back. You will spend most of your time recruiting, developing, and coaching active search fund entrepreneurs.

What You’ll Do PSP invests in deals through two channels: search funds and proprietary deals. In addition tofund operating activities (fundraising and working with portfolio companies), you will spend most of your time in the first channel, assisting Search Funds.

A successful VP will be able to: ● Develop recruiting presence on MBA campuses ● Assist our searchers when they launch their campaign to find a company ● Regularly interface with our searchers to discuss sourcing and outreach tactics ● Evaluate deals, recommend diligence paths, develop key business questions during due diligence stage ● Coach entrepreneurs throughout all elements of their searches ● Assist in negotiating legal documents

What We’re Looking For ● High EQ ● Aptitude for coaching / relationship building ● Ability to multitask ● “People person” (2-5 years in client facing role) ● Experience in banking/private equity/general finance preferred (2-5 years) ● Experience in investor relations preferred ● Ownership mindset, self-motivated, and strong attention to detail
