Role Summary
To be the subject matter expert and product leader that maximizes market appeal and sales of Sophos Wireless and Sophos Switch products. Lead and own the product lifecycle and initiatives for Sophos and support the portfolio of Sophos network access product teams.
As the product manager, this role is responsible for developing and executing an overall product strategy to deliver value in Sophos wireless products and surrounding network assets. The individual will help set product priorities, working closely with product managers, regional leaders, sales engineering teams, channel partners, and customers, and serve as the spokesperson for the assigned product areas.

What You Will Do

  • Develop, negotiate, and manage the execution of the product priorities across the business. This includes feature definition, go-to-market messages, and plans (programs, promotions, operations, timelines, success metrics).
  • Define product requirements and business value with market analysis, market trends, peer review, and customer/partner contact. Represent market requirements during collaborative planning.
  • Work with the engineering team(s) to ensure that all projects that form part of the strategic product plans are tracking to plan and any issues are addressed promptly or escalated to senior management for resolution (with recommendations for resolution).
  • Represents the business (customer/partner) to the engineering team. Understand the relative customer/market value of features, tech debt, and defect fixes. Be available to engineers for consultation and clarification.
  • Actively support and partner with engineering and continue to participate actively in scrum ceremonies. Lead regular backlog grooming/refinement meetings. Accept feature stories before they are closed. Represent the customer/business in Support triage meetings.
  • Manage expectations with senior leadership providing status, action plans, and recommendations where required.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the coordination of the delivery to plan.
  • Drive overall decision-making process, and manage deliverables and schedules of projects across all aspects of the strategic product life cycle.
  • Rigorous pursuit of knowledge related to market trends, market influencers, and competitors.
  • In partnership with PMM, develop assets and communicate timelines that support the go-to-market plans (e.g. channel programs/promotions, product positioning, sales briefs, promotions, PR activities).
  • Participate in PM leadership meetings, providing well-structured ideas and recommendations to improve the holistic Sophos value proposition.
  • Regular, frequent engagement with the channel (Sophos sales, channel, distribution) to gather first-hand feedback and champion Sophos products.
  • Act as a subject matter specialist for Sophos Wireless, and Sophos Switch, providing information and guidance to sales, marketing, and technical support that will assist in sales and support-related issues.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts at all stages of the product life cycle.
  • Collaborate with the project management team during the product lifecycle to ensure activities drive the product plan.
  • Must be able to clearly articulate ideas, concepts, roadmaps, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.

What You Will Bring

  • Possess existing market and technical market knowledge of 802.11 ac/n and Wi-Fi 6 wireless technologies.
  • Have a thorough understanding of how networks are designed, built, and implemented with firewalls, network switches, and wireless access points.

  • An understanding of the Wi-Fi competitive landscape for wireless is desired.
