About the Role

Fraud and funding workflows are core to account opening and lending. They determine whether money moves quickly, securely, and with minimal friction. When they work well, credit unions see higher conversion, lower losses, and stronger member trust. When they don’t, growth stalls and trust erodes.

Think about your own experience opening a savings account: you complete the application, then need to seamlessly move funds from your existing bank into the new account. That’s the experience we aim to deliver — fast, reliable, and secure.

We’re looking for a PM to own and scale the risk and payments experience across Digital Account Opening and Lending. This means building the right checks, controls, and payment flows to keep the system secure while ensuring members don’t get stuck. It’s a role with direct impact on customer trust and revenue outcomes.

In addition, this PM will provide bandwidth relief across AO when needed — supporting Consumer and Business AO product work during peak demand. The ideal candidate thrives in complex spaces, builds context quickly, and helps the org stay ahead of customer needs and scaling risks.

About the Team

You’ll join a high-talent density Product & Engineering org with a culture of ownership, speed, and judgment. PMs here work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineers and GTM peers, driving clarity and tough tradeoffs instead of waiting for direction.

This is a pivotal time at Clutch: we are on a strong growth path, and how we scale account opening in the next 12 months will define how Clutch builds durable company leverage.

What You’ll Do

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Ramp up on current risk and payments workflows and key customer needs.

  • Take ownership of the backlog, bringing structure to urgent escalations around payments and fraud.

  • Build clear product plans to drive alignment with engineering.

  • Support the Consumer AO PM on backlog items to relieve bandwidth crunch.

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Deliver measurable lifts: stronger product controls for risk management across payment types.

  • Execute the right build-vs-partner strategy by working with third-party partners.

  • Establish yourself as a company leader in this space — driving clarity across product, engineering, and GTM, and engaging directly with customers and escalations.

  • Partner with AO PMs on shared capabilities

Within 9 months, you will:

  • Consistently be the trusted DRI across Account Opening + Lending for risk and payments.

  • Turn urgent needsShift the org from firefighting to predictable, well thought out configurable payment and fraud controls.

  • Flexibly absorb AO bandwidth needs during scaling cycles — while keeping Risk & Payments on track.

What You’ll Bring

  • Domain Knowledge: You’ve shipped product in high-stakes domains (payments, risk, compliance, or fintech infra). You know how to balance user vs compliance tradeoffs and short- vs long-term goals.

  • Execution excellence: Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments; you bring urgency, energy, and follow-through. 3+ years of PM experience in B2B or fintech environments.

  • Collaboration skills: You partner across product, engineering, and GTM — holding the line on judgment while ensuring customers feel heard.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to step in and help on AO bandwidth beyond Risk & Payments, providing leverage where the product org needs it most.

Please note that this role may evolve as our business needs change, so we appreciate your flexibility and adaptability.
