The fund was formed in 2008 to formalize the investing activities of the founding partner, Joel Peterson, a consulting professor at Stanford University's School of Business and an angel investor since the mid-1980s. Entrepreneurs are referred through the extensive network that Joel Peterson has developed at Stanford and the firm's connection to the Intermountain Region.
